Iron & Ivy Barber Co.
Eight chairs on Milwaukee Avenue. Five barbers who have been doing this a long time. Nothing that has to sit and process.
Open now · walk in until 8:00 pm
The shop
A barbershop, not a salon.
We took the old hardware store on Milwaukee because it had the light and the length — one long room, eight stations against the window, and enough sidewalk out front that the line on a Saturday never bothers anybody.
There is no colour bar, no processing chair, no forty-minute wait while something develops. Everything on the menu is one appointment, start to finish, with the same barber the whole way through. That is why we can hold half the floor for whoever walks through the door.
Sinatra on the speakers is a cliché, so it is usually whatever Kofi feels like. The coffee is free and honestly not great. Bring your kid, bring your dad — Sal has cut three generations of the same family and would like a fourth.
House rules
- 01 Walk in wheneverHalf the chairs stay open for the door. If you have five minutes and a barber is free, you are getting cut.
- 02 No deposit, everBooking online never asks for a card. Miss the chair without telling us and there is a flat $15 on your next visit. That is the whole policy.
- 03 Fifteen minutes late is a walk-inWe hold your chair a quarter hour. After that you keep your place in the walk-in line, which on a Tuesday is usually no wait at all.
- 04 Cash and card both fineTip your barber however you like. There is an ATM two doors down and nobody here will pretend the card reader is broken.
